The main four-lane highway between Pápa and Győr will be built on a new route. Thanks to the development, it will be possible to travel between Győr and Pápa up to 20 minutes faster by the end of 2023, reports Nemzeti Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. (NIF Zrt.).
At the beginning of the construction works, Ákos Kara and dr. Zoltán Kovács, members of the parliament of the region, and Boglárka Kiss, spokesperson for NIF Zrt., Held a press conference.
No. 83. The stretch of the main road between Pápa and Győr, the M1 motorway, will avoid settlements. The design of the road will be 2 × 2 lanes, with a physical separation in the middle, with a crown width of 20.50 meters, without a stop lane. The 36-kilometer section will be accessible through six separate level crossings, and 23 structures will be built.
The construction is divided into two phases:
- In 18.4 km between the Pápa-Tét-Sur junction, 15 works of art and two level junctions (Pápa Norte, Colonia) will be built, as well as a railway flyover on the road connecting the Pápa Airport.
- On the 17.6-kilometer stretch between the Tét-Sur junction and Győr, eight works of art and four separate level junctions (Tét Sur, Tét Norte, Győrszemere, Koroncó) will be built.
Project preparation has been completed, land acquisition, tree felling and archaeological excavations have been carried out.
In 2020 the transport and organizational routes necessary for the construction will be built, the buzz will start and the test piling works of the bridges will begin.
Thanks to the permissible speeds of 110 kilometers per hour on the new road section the current travel time of 55 minutes is approx. It will decrease in 20 minutes between Pápa and Győr, and congestion is expected to end in Győr, in the area of the Malom út junction.
Ákos Kara, Member of Parliament for the region, said: As for the main road, we have a long preparatory work behind us. The result of true teamwork is that in recent weeks the construction of a 36 km section of great importance for the region and the country has begun. Instead of an extremely accident prone and poorly laid road, a new 2 × 2 lane main road will be built.
Zoltán Kovács, deputy of the region, highlighted: The figures also show the importance of the investment: in the 36 km stretch
- 137 thousand cubic meters of asphalt,
- 3.7 million cubic meters of aggregates will also be installed
- more than 9,500 trees are planted.
Kiss Boglárka, spokesperson for NIF Zrt., Emphasized that the first kilometer of the introductory section of Győr was completed in 2018. Thanks to current development, the introduction will be extended to 2 × 2 lanes for an additional 3 km. At the beginning of the section, roundabouts will also be built on Malom Street and Új Élet Street.
As part of the investment, the 83. main road – the access road to the Pápa airport, which allows direct access to the airport and the city by crossing the railroad crossing on a separate level.
No. 83. The stretch of the main road between Győr and Pápa is expected to be commercialized by the end of 2023, the net value of the construction of the two phases is HUF 90.5 billion.
