It pays to be an IT professional in Hungary, because even junior category workers bring home hundreds of thousands of guilders.

There is still a saying that you can earn very well as an IT professional, and you don’t necessarily have to move abroad to do so, as the latest data shows. The No Fluff Jobs job portal conducted new research (online) on the subject. Based on the responses

40 percent of senior IT professionals said their earnings were in the 600-899,000 net salary range.

Twenty per cent of them can take home between 900 thousand and 1.2 million florins a month, and 9 per cent of them have a monthly salary that exceeds 1.2 million. 66 per cent of the median and 55 per cent of the young earn between 300 and 599 thousand net florins, 44 per cent of the latter group marked their salaries between 100 and 299 thousand florins. Know the specific amounts due to the fact that the job portal also requires advertisers to provide a pay band. This way you know exactly what opportunities await each candidate.

According to the data, 86.5 percent of employees work as wage earners, 10 percent of them according to an employment contract. However, project-based employment, which is increasingly important, affects only 1 percent of those surveyed. Most respondents are 15-15 percent involved in full-stack development (typically in Java or C #, using web frameworks), as well as the backend (i.e., server-side work).

Based on the responses submitted, the third most common area was product and project management with 12.5 percent. Interestingly, only 1 percent of IT professionals surveyed specialize in artificial intelligence. More than half of those who completed the questionnaire were older adults, a third were mediators, and the smallest group was youth and apprentices. The IT profession has long been considered one of the most lucrative professions, which is also supported by research results, they wrote.

The benefits that IT companies offer often include flexible work hours, the possibility of a home office, and a modern office environment.

HO was in high demand from workers even before the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, but in 2020 it became even more valuable.

IT professionals’ needs for their jobs vary considerably based on their seniority: while free training opportunities, restrooms, coffee, and soft drinks are important factors for beginners, flexible work schedules, flat organizational hierarchy, private services -Health insurance, subsidies for company cars and parking are increasingly important.

According to the announcement, the survey clearly showed that Hungary’s IT sector is centralized in Budapest: almost 81 percent of respondents work in the capital. A significant part of the remaining 19 percent is concentrated in Szeged, Debrecen, Miskolc and Székesfehérvár.
