The German company was in crisis due to the coronavirus epidemic.

The new Lufthansa Technik plant would have been built in the area near the Miskolc airport, but the company decided to suspend its investment due to the coronavirus epidemic, ATV Híradó reported.

The factory reportedly repaired aircraft engine parts. According to the channel’s report, the investment would have created 400 new jobs at Miskolc.

ATV contacted Lufthansa headquarters in Hamburg about the investment, the company said in response that Lufthansa Technik and its subsidiaries are in a deep historical crisis due to the corona virus, which already threatens the company’s existence, thus that the investment will not continue. They added that the long-term prospects of the Miskolc project will be examined in the future.
