Liget Budapest informed our newspaper that the artificial turf soccer field in Városliget could not be used free of charge even before the Liget Budapest Project, only for a rental, in the operation of the Municipality of Erzsébetváros and its contractual partner.
According to the company, after the renovation, there will be barrier-free locker rooms on-site and the area will be complemented by a rubber-covered basketball, volleyball, and tennis court, but the 3 rubber-covered multifunctional sports fields will be completely renovated and they will continue to be used free of charge.
According to an entry on a Facebook page called Városliget, the authorities did not overcome the big drum that they would have to pay for certain services. In his opinion, it could be a matter of debate how much of a public park should be closed for everyday users and how much could be sold.
