According to Sunday’s report, the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was detected in 1,307 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 327,995. Most of the deaths were 103 elderly and chronic patients. These are lower numbers than in recent weeks. However, fewer than 6,000 tests were performed, which is very low. 21% of the tests were positive, which means a very high hit rate and shows an uncontrolled spread of the virus.

On Monday, the new coronavirus infection was detected in 856 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 328,851. Most of the 93 deaths were chronically elderly patients, thus the number of deaths increased to 9,977.

Hungary is technically prepared to administer coronavirus vaccines en masse and rapidly if a large quantity of vaccine arrives in the country, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in the Kossuth Radio Sunday newspaper on Sunday. Viktor Orbán commented: To the best of your knowledge, millions of vaccines are not expected in the short term, as manufacturers are currently unable to provide reliable quantities and delivery times.

Meanwhile, the government virus laboratory is better at fighting the epidemic: In Hungary, 9,884 people lost their lives on Sunday due to complications from the coronavirus, while 6,274 died in Austria. In Austria, the situation is better in proportion to the population. There, 695 people out of a million people have lost their lives since the outbreak due to complications from the virus, while the death toll in Hungary is 1,024.
