At Wednesday’s briefing of operational staff Müller Cecília He said there are currently 7,718 coronavirus patients receiving hospital care and 656 are in need of ventilation. These figures are a bit softer compared to the recent past, but still show an upward trend.

“Looking at last week’s data, the curve of the epidemic appears to be changing,” said the chief medical officer.

This means that

at week 47, seven percent fewer positive cases were recorded than a week earlier.

However, the age proportions are almost the same in the sixth week, with the 40-49 age group being the most affected, this group representing 23% of cases and those over 65 years of age 16%.

The lowest number of infections is found in children aged 0-2 years, with only 141 cases recorded since the start of the epidemic, but the incidence is increasing across age groups. There are 365 infections per 100,000 in lower secondary school, 968 in upper secondary school, and 2,130 in secondary school.

Of the new infections recorded in week 47, 18.5 percent were in Budapest, 12.6 percent in Pest county, and 8 percent in BAZ county. Once again, Tolna County had the least spread of the virus, with only 373 positive cases found, a percentage of all infected.

In one week, the number of positive cases increased the most in Zala County by 86 percent, in Fejér County by 71 percent, in BAZ County by 54 percent, while in the counties in Nógrád and Győr-Moson-Sopron the number of new infections decreased significantly.

The average age of the deceased was 76 years and that of the recovered 40 years.
