Eighty-five percent of Hungarian settlements were found to be infected with a coronavirus, which in practice means that the virus can be present in all parts of the country, the national medical director told public media on Sunday, according to MTI reports.

Müller Cecília in other words, they are all doing the right thing if they consider themselves or those who do not live with them in a home potentially infected and stay in contact with others accordingly.

He stressed that in the current situation, the most important thing is to reduce the number of infected people to reduce the extreme burden on the health system.

All of Europe is struggling to stop the epidemic and slow its spread, and there are more positive cases in Hungary every day.

– He said. The chief doctor recalled that strict restrictive measures have been introduced to reduce the number of encounters between people. This was also necessary because there are almost no families in whose environment no positive person has been registered, he added.

Cecília Müller confirmed that on Saturday 4238 new cases of coronavirus were found and that 7013 people are being treated in the hospital, 569 of whom are on a ventilator, which is an extraordinary burden for the health system.

He stressed that he could not thank the healthcare workers who were having a hard time both physically and mentally. Cecília Müller asked them to persevere, epidemiologists are doing everything possible to reduce their workload.

The medical director said it was extremely important that anyone who noticed symptoms not go anywhere, stay home and seek help from their GP.

People react to the virus in very different ways: Some people go through the infection almost asymptomatically, while others develop a serious complication, he said, then underlined:

Anyone can become seriously ill, so we have a responsibility to each other.

Cecília Müller also said that I would like to see no more austerities imposed, and this is possible if the population adheres to the current rules in a disciplined manner.

He noted that 2-4 weeks after the introduction of the restrictions, it will be possible to see the results of the current tightening.
