The national medical chief drew attention to the fact that not only those suffering from some basic illness or the elderly become serious, there are also younger people. Everyone should take the rules seriously, because in this way we can slow the course of the epidemic, said Cecília Müller, who said that the time may come in Hungary when significant changes will be needed, but I want to avoid that.
We will adjust as of Monday because it has to be adjusted, ”National Medical Director Cecília Müller told state media on Sunday in Nagyvenyim.
The number of people infected by the coronavirus is increasing day by day and, for the second day in a row, almost 4,000 new cases have been confirmed by laboratory tests. This also increases in direct proportion the number of people requiring hospital treatment. He drew attention to the fact that not only people with an underlying disease or the elderly become moderate to severe. There are also younger people whose immune system responds to infection in need of urgent care, hospitalization, he said.
He emphatically emphasized: everyone has a responsibility these days. Individual responsibility, joint responsibility, responsibility of the authorities, said Cecília Müller. He said it was extremely important for everyone to take the rules seriously because that would curb the epidemic.
He also said that it is important that everyone has access to adequate care in hospitals. Let everyone have a place, an intensive care provider, a ventilator – Müller said, according to the MTI, adding: “Hungary currently has all this, as well as the necessary forms of care and medicines. experience with the disease that helps cure it.
Every day there are more patients
The medical director said that 3,878 new infections had been recorded last day. So many positive cases have never been discovered during the epidemic. Since the beginning of the epidemic, almost 80,000 people have been infected in Hungary and a significant part of them have been cured.
According to Cecília Müller, the reaction of the individual to the virus is very different, depending on the state of the immune system, but also on the genetics of the person.
There are currently 4205 people being treated in the hospital, 306 with ventilators. The head doctor asked the person who had contracted the disease and was at home to monitor himself and, if his condition worsened, to notify the family doctor or the doctor on call in a timely manner.
If the health of ourselves, our loved ones, our community, and the country is important, we must take the rules seriously now. He said it was unacceptable that many movements and virus deniers were trying to devalue the defense.
Put on a mask because punishment is coming!
We are adjusting it as of Monday because it has to be tightened, the expert said, according to the mask, which has been shown to prevent transmission of the virus by almost 80 percent. He recalled that at the beginning of the epidemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended that patients wear a mask. However, by now the virus is so widespread that it is no longer possible to know with certainty who is sick, many of whom are asymptomatic. Therefore, everyone is now considered contagious. The mandatory standards for the use of masks have also been expanded in Hungary.
According to the chief physician, in order to live our lives, we must introduce, comply with, and enforce these restrictions. The police can make the rules much stricter and if they don’t act differently they should be punished.
There may come a time when significant restraint is needed
They will be continuously disinfected in accordance with the procedures established by the community institutions. The Hungarian Armed Forces have been helping a lot from the start, and now, for example, schools are being disinfected during the autumn break, Cecília Müller said. The epidemiological situation is constantly being analyzed. He considers that the population of Hungary is disciplined. Trust that if everyone follows the rules, avoids the crowd, the massive events, no drastic changes will be needed. At the same time, he pointed out that the time may also come in Hungary when significant changes will be needed, but I would like to avoid that, the national medical director told public media.
