We asked well-known actors what they thought of the scandal surrounding the acting. Response from Cecília Esztergályos and Zsolt Trill.

Students occupied the Vas Street building of the University of Theater and Motion Picture Arts for more than a week, protesting that the tense pace of the model change would end the autonomy of the university. Since then, various poetic and musical demonstrations have been gathered, live on the chain and there have been declarations of solidarity. Many renowned national and foreign organizations, institutions and artists defended SZFE: entire companies, musicians, writers and, of course, actors. From András Stohl to Róbert Koltai, obsession From Eszter Csákányi to György Cserhalmi.

In recent days, news of the protest has already spread abroad, with world stars such as Cate blanchett, Eddie redmayne, Helen mirren, Green eva, John lithgow, or alone Salman rushdie. He has been appointed president of the new board of trustees Attila Vidnyánszky on the other hand, he sees that by admitting national and Christian values, they only want to create a more colorful and open university, but he says that the physical closure of the students shows that they “do not want to allow any change.”

Many renowned artists in the world of Hungarian theater have not yet ruled on the question of the approximate division of the profession. We asked famous Hungarian actors what they thought about the SZFE case. Cecilia converted Just before his performance in Ózd, we contacted him by phone, preparing his opinion in the dressing room. As he said, he does not follow events closely, but “hears the cries of dissatisfied people” on the internet, but looks at things from a different historical scale:

Thank God there is democracy. Everyone can notice your pain, your sadness and try to help with that. It was not like that in my time. I graduated from the Ballet Institute in 1960, now the University of Dance Arts, and went there for nine years to be a classical dancer. The next morning, after I graduated, the director announced that I was obliged to go to Pécs. We were 17 and a half years old, so they were minors, and it was clear that whoever did not come down did not have a degree, could go home to wash the dishes. So my message to the young people, the middle aged people, is to be thankful that they live in this world today and they can change, they can choose what they want to be. There was no such thing in my time. My other career was in acting, it also happened there that they assigned me a theater and I had to go there. We couldn’t choose our professors, we could be happy, at least I was happy to be admitted to both universities, and today I am two graduates, happy people because I do what I love.

The actress told 24.hu, who said that today’s young people would not know the concepts of democracy and dictatorship, and could thank heaven that they did not have to live the latter. “I would put my two hands together, I would put it together, I already live in this world.”

We reached the National Company by phone Trill zsoltot who did not want to go into the details of the case but said:

I just want to say two thoughts. I am a member of the National Theater and I have no doubt that Attila Vidnyánszky and all the staff also want good things in their cause of theater. I think for sure, only good goals float before their eyes. This is one thing, and the other is that I would recommend it to everyone: feel free to finally go to the National Theater and see a performance there as well. Then we could sit down well together and start talking about theater. I think work is the point. What you put on stage is there. And anyone who does not see, or perverts it, to put it on. I don’t care about anything but work.

To Sándor Csányi We also asked for his opinion, who only said that he did not want to comment on the SZFE case because “it does not deal with politics at all.”
