Ikarus buses will be introduced to the Aeropark over the weekend, and those interested will be able to see some 40 buses, including vintage vehicles, at the Ferihegy Aviation Museum; In addition to the exhibition, an experience bus will also be organized between Aeropark and Terminal 1, organizers said.

On Saturdays and Sundays, the Aviation Cultural Center (LKK), the Transport Museum, Volánbusz Zrt. And several of its partners will present the buses that define the history of Hungarian vehicle production and transport at the airport museum.

As they write, a fleet of 40 vehicles will be featured at the two-day meeting. In addition to the static exhibition, on two days there will be a spectacular Icarus parade on the Aeropark-Vecsés-Ecser-Aeropark route. There will also be an Ikarus Talkshow this year, where the organizers will present the history and international races of the most popular types.

The directors talk with the legendary figures of Hungarian bus production about the birth and design of the models that have achieved worldwide success. It also reveals just how adventurous an iconic vehicle has been rescued and put into operation in recent years.

During the weekend, the Volánbusz Ikarus 55 LUX bus offers a shuttle service between Népliget and Aeropark, with services to the aviation museum every two hours.

During the day, LKK buses will visit the airport and take pre-registered passengers on a foot flight from this year’s 70-year-old terminal to the world’s only Li-2 fit to fly operated by the Goldtimer Foundation. On Sunday, the singer-flight attendant Józsa Tamara will arrive at the Aeropark with auto-traveler songs.
