The Finnish driver experienced hot moments during the second free practice at the end of the F1 season.

He caught fire with the Ferrari-powered Alfa Romeo Kimi Raikkonen in the second practice of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The veteran Finnish runner left the track as fast as he could and waited for the track workers to arrive with the fire extinguishers. One of them soon began to vaccinate, but Räikkönen was not entirely satisfied with his work, according to the case recordings: he took the powder extinguisher from his hands with noble simplicity and blew it back and forth into the rear of the race car to make sure the flames fell asleep.

This is the last race weekend of the F1 season to which seven-time world champion Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton returns from the previous race, who missed the Sahiran Grand Prix due to his coronavirus infection.

Romain Grosjean, who suffered a terrible accident at the Bahrain GP two weeks ago, in which both hands were burned, is not out. The French rider has no contract for next year, so he presumably planned to complete the last grand prix of his career in a special helmet designed by his sons. However, his injuries did not allow him to start.
