Currently, international tickets can be redeemed as needed, without restrictions, for trains with no known traffic restrictions. However, due to the epidemiological situation and government measures implemented

Tickets for international trips that have been exchanged by passengers before August 29 and the validity of the travel document begins no later than September 30, will be reimbursed by MÁV-START until September 30 without charge if the passenger cancels the trip.

In the event that the passenger has redeemed tickets for the return trip (it can be proved that the return ticket is part of a return trip) but the return ticket starts after September 30, the return ticket can also be reimbursed under the above conditions.

In the case of international tickets purchased at the box office, passengers can submit their refund request in person at international ticket offices and customer service. This can also be reported electronically at [email protected] or at https: //www.mavhmä.hu/ugyfelszolgalat/uzenetkuldes.
