A Santa Claus race was held in one of the southeastern districts of the capital, and participants handed out chocolate to children along the way. The Belarusian opposition has been protesting since the controversial presidential elections on August 9, demanding the resignation of Lukashenko, who was elected by 80.1% for his sixth term, according to official results.
