The member companies of the National Trade Association anticipate that family spending on business units will increase significantly before the Christmas holidays, and in the current situation more attention should be paid to controlling the epidemic.

To comply with the regulations for the control of the epidemic, the OKSZ continues to ask for the cooperation of customers, for example, not to go shopping at the last minute, to plan ahead due to shorter opening hours (stores must close at 7pm open) and if possible visit the shops alone. Furthermore, OKSZ asks buyers to wear the appropriate mask and draws attention to the fact that only people over 65 can shop in designated time zones and ask them to use this option for their own safety.

To guard against the epidemic, to avoid mass presence and congestion, various specialized vendors, cashiers and freight companies are working in the stores, and customer services have also been strengthened, OKSZ said.

In addition to the above, stores use several different tools for customer safety, such as:

  • They can limit the number of shopping carts and baskets that can be used at the same time, without which a customer will not be admitted,
  • constantly attract attention and also help to maintain distance with floor stickers, they can ask customers to do it in the sales area, even with a personal address,
  • In addition to the cash registers, they are also asked to keep their distance at deli and butcher counters and to help with posters posted on the floor.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, OKSZ member companies have spent several HUF 10 billion on protection against the epidemic, the association said.
