More than eighty people are trying to be registered and examined by Cambodian health authorities after a Hungarian man infected with a coronavirus left quarantine prematurely, the Cambodian Ministry of Health reported.

According to his announcement on Sunday, the 70-year-old Hungarian man in question arrived in Cambodia from France on September 13. He underwent a test on the 13th of mandatory quarantine, the positive result of which came last Saturday. The 84 passengers traveling with the man on a flight are treated as contacts, and authorities are seeking coronavirus tests.

Another alarm was that a man who lived in the city of Siem Reap with his wife left their home during the quarantine period and went to buy paintings. For this reason, the driver of the tuk-tuk vehicle that was transporting him also had to be examined, and the authorities are also monitoring the condition of those who work in the workshop that the man visited. The man’s wife’s test was negative.

According to official information on Monday, no new cases have been detected in the last 24 hours in Cambodia, where so far only 276 cases have been diagnosed and no deaths have been linked to the coronavirus.
