As a world-class competitor of the disco era of the World Championship, Olympic and European Championships, he was a decisive representative of Hungarian throwing athletics. In addition to the Tokyo World Cup bronze medal, fifth place at the Olympic and European Championships, fourth place at the World Cup and other prestigious achievements from the world finalist competition are associated with his name.

The multiple-choice athlete participated in two Olympic Games. His talent came at a young age: his victory in the Junior European Championship was accompanied by several finalists from the continental championship. As a competitor in Szombathely Progress, he won the Hungarian championship nine times, and between 1990 and 1997 he was able to climb to the top of the podium without interruption. His best result was the first 68.58 meters in the world ranking in 1994, which led the national perpetual ranking for eight years as a national peak. He has repeatedly improved the best results of the youth age groups, and today he is still the top holder of the 1.5kg discus throw.

Attila Horváth’s memory of determined races, athletics, commitment to numbers, helpful and modest personality is preserved by the athlete community; it can be read from the association’s memory.

Attila Horváth is considered by the Hungarian Athletics Association as his own dead.
