Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. Two more ambulances have lost their lives due to the coronavirus, according to the Facebook page of the Hungarian Rescue Workers Association. One of them, Tamás T., an ambulance nurse at the Körmend ambulance station, was 39 years old, and the Berettyóújfalu ambulance nurse, István P., died at the age of 48.

Comparing their deaths with the Hungarian Medical Chamber’s list of victims of the epidemic working in healthcare, the Telex writes: they could be the eighth and ninth ambulance victims of the coronavirus.

The Human Resources Ministry commented that the ever-expanding list said that the majority of those who died had an underlying chronic disease.
