Several educators stalled during the first hours of nationwide testing that began Monday. According to stakeholders who report to hvg.hu, there is no problem with the organization, but there is a problem with the information.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Targeted coronavirus testing began at educational institutions Monday morning, with 191,000 people scheduled to be screened at schools, daycare centers and kindergartens on Friday. Although trial units of four people (two of them “enlisted” students) have been deployed in institutions across the country for only a few hours, the first experiences have already been gained.

An XVIII. Mihály, a teacher at the district institution, who passed the antigen test in the morning, told hvg.hu that they had been notified a week earlier, although the team eventually arrived later. It turned out that they had to conduct more research than expected.

According to Mihály, they were done in an hour, although according to him, the tests did not fully comply with epidemiological regulations: because, although they kept their distance and wearing a mask, everyone was standing in the corridor. Of the panel of approximately 120 people, 23 people did not show up, 14 did not contribute to the test. Said:

two became positive, separated immediately. Anyway, one of them came in for tests because he was not feeling well.

He said there was no special pressure from the school to evaluate those who said no, who generally did so because they did not trust 100 percent of the promised sick pay (which comes if they get the infection in the job). “They say who knows what they are going to do. But there is also a colleague who has a one-hour contract at another institution who would fail if his test is positive ”, detailed the background, adding that he also has a colleague who was afraid of the testing process itself.

It’s no wonder they don’t trust sick pay – according to the Democratic Union of Teachers, they get a dozen reports that they can’t get the full amount. Speaking with GPs and occupational health professionals, they concluded that there are many obstacles in the system, partly due to the administrative burden. Until now, the situation has been compounded by the fact that a diagnosis could not be made without the PCR test, but this has reportedly changed and the results of the antigen tests are already being accepted.

Mihály was basically satisfied with the organization of the tests, except for a few small things. “It was fast and accurate, but there were problems with the flow of information. For example, no one said that this test is only done through the nose, so it could have been eaten and drunk as well. “

Erzsébet Nagy, a board member for the Democratic Union of Teachers, told hvg.hu that the data is still being collected, but that some reports have already been received, usually on one or two asymptomatic colleagues. “That’s why these people go through a lot of rooms,” Nagy said.

We can say that indeed the infection is present in the institutions even among colleagues who have walked for hours until now.

Many say he is outraged that technical workers are not screened, as are children.

In his vast experience, it is not typical to decline testing if you don’t want to be in on the action, are often afraid of the process, or may not consider antigen testing a good solution. “Several people have written that this only brings a 50 percent result, but that is not entirely true. Only a negative test is uncertain. “

Tamás Totyik is the vice president of the Teachers Union British television channelIn he spoke of knowing an institution where five percent of his companions were infected, one by one asymptomatically. Her young children also spoke about many educators who fear being sent with sick pay after a positive test.

The results of the national tests will be announced by operational staff not daily, but after the process is completed, which is expected next week. Testing of social workers began on Friday and on Monday, in addition to kindergarten teachers and educators, testing of health workers began.

Due to the coronavirus, there are currently extraordinary breaks for teaching in 71 elementary schools, as shown in Figures 1-8. Zoltán Maruzsa, Secretary of State for Public Education at the Ministry of Human Resources, said that less than three percent of educational institutions in the first year. In 431 locations, about sixteen percent of elementary schools currently have digital work schedules outside the classroom, but only 43 of those involve the entire institution.
