The chancellor asked himself to use the police helicopter for fun.

At a press conference, the RTL Klub reporter asked Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó if the plebeian government expressed by Fidesz or the minister personally sheds bad light on the fact that he travels by police helicopter several times or lands in the courtyard of a Szekszárd winery. The minister acknowledged that he had visited the Bodri winery, but considered the attacks unworthy of using a helicopter.

It’s not about fun, it’s about work

Argued Szijjártó, who used the police helicopter seven times this year, as the sole member of the government.

Szijjártó’s trip came again after Ákos Hadházy, an independent deputy of Parliament, published on Thursday a photo of a helicopter in front of the Bodri winery in Szekszárd, stating that Péter Szijjártó arrived on July 14. The minister does not appear in the images published by Hadházy, the representative made his statement referring to a study of eyewitnesses.

The fact that the Minister used a helicopter that day was previously recognized by the ministry – so also found out Hadházy – but it was argued that Szijjártó had a tight schedule, he had to travel 140 kilometers in a short time, so he traveled to Tolna with a police helicopter. your car so that you can drive on the road after your arrival.

On Thursday, we asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs whether Péter Szijjártó had actually landed in the cellar and whether he had actually had lunch with Fidesz politicians and guests, as Hadházy claims when the ministry accused Hadházy of lying, and then he described in detail the program of Szijjártó.

  • On July 14, Péter Szijjártó announced for the first time Lidl’s HUF 35 billion investment in Budapest, which will create 400 new jobs.
  • He then received the Foreign Ministers of Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia for an official visit to Budapest and a working lunch in Dunakeszi,
  • then he traveled to Tolna, where he announced the investment of HUF 564 million by Fastron Hungária Kft., which allows to preserve 217 jobs.
  • Finally, he participated in a working dinner in Szekszárd with the heads of 10 Tolna County companies, that is, not politicians. These companies will invest 4.7 billion HUF and protect a total of 1,139 jobs.

Our question was not answered, so we sent another email when Péter Szijjártó used the helicopter on this route, including the way home, but the only thing that was written was that

the Minister travels by helicopter as far as is necessary for his negotiations.

The same day, at a press conference on Friday, Péter Szijjártó said that he had 40 minutes from Dunakeszi to Szekszárd, which also mentioned the RTL Klub Bodri winery.

And I used a helicopter, we flew from Dunakeszi to Szekszárd, where I first met the managers of a company called Fastron Hungária, which saved 217 jobs. Then I went to the place that you quote a lot, but the lie is that there I would have met Fidesz representatives and that I would have flown to go to the winery, which did not drink any alcohol. There I met the leaders of ten Tolna County businesses.

Szijjártó also said that he used a police helicopter for seven of the 270 days this year, but only did so if he needed it to function.

“We always start from there and get there, which makes sense.”

He admitted that they sometimes landed in Dunakeszi – which is interesting because he lives there with his family – but because from there they went on to negotiate with city leaders about the infrastructure developments that would be necessary as a result of the investments.

Ákos Hadházy also asked a written question about the July trip, but only Secretary of State Tamás Menczer replied that the minister’s program had already been reported in detail.
