Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to stem the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified, and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

“After a long struggle with the coronavirus,” one of the patient transporters at Ferenc Jahn South Pest Hospital, who has worked at the institution since 1993, passed away. The hospital wrote on its Facebook page that his colleague “did his job conscientiously to despite his many chronic illnesses, ”they could always count on him.

Similar news of mourning appeared on the side of the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Hatvan. As reported, the coronavirus disease, a complication of Covid-19, died after a long fight with the institution’s chief physician, the radiologist.

At a government briefing on Thursday, Gergely Gulyás, the prime minister, said in response to a journalist’s question: 15 health workers had lost their lives as a result of the epidemic.

Previously, the Hungarian Medical Chamber opened a page on its website in memory of deceased colleagues. Their roster currently includes 16 doctors, nurses, ambulances, and patient carriers. There are no employees of the Ferenc Jahn Hospital and Albert Schweitzer Hospital.
