Coronavirus – the second year

It has been more than a year since the Chinese authorities informed the WHO of the emergence of a new, rapidly spreading virus. Since then, there has hardly been a person in the world who has not heard the term Covid-19, and more and more people are mourning a family member or friend with whom the new disease ended as stocks collapsed in weeks and our entire lives were rewritten. by the epidemic. By now, the vaccines have been completed, which in turn raises not only hope, but again many questions, while not only stopping the virus, but also threatening another mutation. You can find the details of this fight in our article series.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán agreed to the implementation of the vaccination plan at the Interior Ministry’s guard center on Saturday morning, his press chief said. According to Bertalan Havasi, the meeting was attended by Sándor Pintér, Minister of the Interior, Antal Rogán, Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister, István György and Csaba Latorcai, Secretary of State, János Balogh, Chief of the National Police and Zoltán Jenei, Director General of the National Hospital.

In his video released after the conciliation, the prime minister said that although it is Holy Saturday, the virus is not resting, so we must defend ourselves. Every vaccine can save lives, the prime minister said, then expressed gratitude to GPs, hospital doctors and nurses for taking the job at Easter.

Orbán asked that anyone who receives a call these days be sure to go pick up the vaccine. He reiterated what was already known from the news published on koronavirus.gov.hu: as of Saturday morning, 2,235,731 people had received at least their first vaccination. The prime minister did not mention that, according to official figures, 242 coronavirus patients died and 8,637 new infections were recorded.

“We also work, the operating personnel also work. And according to the work planned for this morning, today we will be vaccinating another 83,000 people, “concluded the prime minister in his video.

On Saturday morning, 79,051 people and a total of 2,235,731 received the first dose of the vaccine, as published on the government’s information website the day before. If vaccination continues at this rate, there could in fact be 2.5 million vaccinated in the next few days. Orbán had previously spoken that this is the limit in the graft from which a staggered restart can be started as soon as possible.
