In a small settlement in Vas County, it must be repeated by equal vote. Mayors elections were held in six municipalities on Sunday, here are the results.

Fidesz’s candidate, Gábor Pávkovics, won the Mohács mayoral elections: the politician obtained the support of 56.44 percent of voters. The result was not that surprising, as Fidesz ruled the settlement of 17,000 in Baranya for 22 years, except for the last narrow year. Exactly József Szekó, who died a few weeks before the municipal elections in October, his party could no longer nominate a new candidate, so the socialist Ferenc Csorbai won without rival. At least according to official data, most of the votes were not valid, so the ruling majority protested because the politician had not resigned.

Paradoxically, Csorbai now obtained more votes than last year: after 1876, he now had the support of 3,369.

The result of Mohács had to wait an unusually long time, the data of the National Electoral Office was not updated until an hour after nine. Of course, this did not stop Fidesz from congratulating his party partner on the victory;

On Sunday, it was not only in Mohács that an interim municipal election was held. In Beregdaróc, they voted for the resignation of György Pálinkás, who had previously led the settlement, and László Tánczos was chosen from among three independent candidates in the village near the Ukrainian border.

A provisional election was called in Karcag, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county, due to the death of the former mayor and representative. Here, Fidesz’s Tibor Szepesi practically knocked out his only opponent, Labor. Gánt, if not with such superiority, also won the Fidesz candidate – János Krausz.

In Kengyel, where the term of Szilárd Nagy, suspected of embezzlement, was terminated for indignity, the independent József Gál became the new mayor. In Kemeneskápolna in Vas County, a tie was formed between the two candidates: Kornélia Csekéné Hóbor and Janka Marton also obtained 48-48 votes. Here you have to repeat the choice.
