South Pest Central Hospital healthcare workers are constantly vaccinated with a coronavirus vaccine and no one has had any health problems so far.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

Andrea Kulcsár, director of the institution’s vaccination center, told MTI on Sunday: the institution received 1950 doses of the first shipment of the vaccine developed by Pfizer-BioNTech to Hungary, so 975 people will receive the vaccine. It is planned to administer this amount for five days.

The chief physician mentioned that this amount can be used to vaccinate South-Pest Central Hospital employees and pre-registered health care personnel from other hospitals.

Hospital personnel who intend to administer the vaccine will arrive on time and receive complete information. Before administering the vaccine, they must complete a health questionnaire to decide if they can be vaccinated, Andrea Kulcsár said.

He added that everyone will be monitored for the necessary time after vaccination, vaccinated people will receive a so-called vaccination card and the time of the second vaccination. This is because two vaccines are required for complete protection.

Andrea Kulcsár is a vaccination consultant with the newly arrived Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines at South Pest Central Hospital on December 26, 2020. The coronavirus vaccine, manufactured in Puurs, Belgium, the first in Europe to be approved, is transferred from the hospital other household vaccines. The first shipment contains 9,750 doses of vaccine, allowing 4,875 health workers to be vaccinated.

Andrea Kulcsár pointed out that those who have a fever, are pregnant or plan to have a child within three months should not be vaccinated. Also, anyone who has been infected with a coronavirus in the last three months will not get vaccinated now because they still have antibodies to the virus in their body.

A first aid site has also been set up at the vaccination center, and the intensive care unit is also ready to deal with a possible serious vaccination reaction, Andrea Kulcsár said, emphasizing that no one has experienced this before.
