The new coronavirus infection was detected in 809 new Hungarian citizens, thus increasing the number of infected people in Hungary to 16,920. Six chronic patients died, bringing the death toll to 675, and 4,382 have already recovered.

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. The number of actively infected people is 11,863. 41% of the actively infected, 58% of the dead and 40% of those recovered are from Budapest. There are 386 hospitalized coronavirus patients, 30 of whom are hooked up to ventilators, according to the official government website on the coronavir virus.

They warn that the second wave of the epidemic is occurring in Hungary.

As of Monday, the use of the mask is mandatory not only in shops and public transport, but also in cinemas, theaters, shopping centers, health and social care institutions and customer reception offices. Also, after Monday at 23:00, restaurants and entertainment venues must be closed.

In order to curb the spread of the community, we will continue to avoid places where there are many people indoors, preferably keep social distance, wash our hands frequently and thoroughly. Anyone who has been ordered to have an official home quarantine for a stay abroad or for any other reason must strictly comply. Anyone with symptoms should not go to the community but stay home and notify their GP by phone. Starting in October, teachers and students can only enter schools after a body temperature measurement.

The protection of elderly and chronic patients is of the utmost importance. Older people are also asked to pay close attention to themselves and general precautions. Visiting hospitals and nursing homes is prohibited. And nursing home administrators must do everything possible to prevent infection.
