coronavirus pandemic

The number of people infected with the coronavirus in the world already exceeds three million, more than two hundred thousand have lost their lives to the disease and the economic impact of the epidemic is invaluable. We try to inform our readers about everything, stay tuned, read our series of articles.

Béla Merkely, Rector of SOTE, who was invited to the weekly ATV Journal with András Sváby, spoke about the fact that the Hungarian medical university he runs is perhaps the best university in Central Europe, and for him a 10-year program is the development of this university.

He said about the tests that started on Friday with the coordination of the four Hungarian universities: in the future, it will be important where the patients are, from where you can know where to expect a subsequent outbreak of the epidemic. He also said that on Friday there will be a massive screening test for the hereditary material of the virus, but all participants will also be tested for the presence of the antibody.

The test is also performed on symptomatic and asymptomatic citizens of a selected representative sample with the help of the OSC.

The 17,000 people represent another 500 people per person in a massive test, in which participants complete a 50-question test in addition to taking blood. Everyone who has been invited to the test is asked to take advantage of this opportunity because this is the only way to eradicate this epidemic. Children between the ages of 14 and 18 also take the test.

Regarding the testing of health workers, Béla Merkely says there is a need for logical and systematic detection in medical care.

According to Béla Merkely, another wave of the coronavirus epidemic is not expected in the summer, but another wave in the fall cannot be ruled out.
