The Chairman of Jobbik wanted to comment on the fine of 4.4 million guilders that was imposed on him for bringing a bag of potatoes into the meeting room with the microphone turned off.

With 115 yes, 51 no and two abstentions, in the session of Monday a reduction of the honor of Peter Jakab was voted in the Parliament. The leader of the Jobbik faction was fined László Kövér, president of the National Assembly, HUF 4.4 million for putting a bag of potato chips on Viktor Orbán’s table in Parliament in October.

“It’s a shame that when a country is going through a crisis, you have fun here by being fined 4.4 million for a bag of potatoes.”

Jakab said, then asked if a gift had brought the Adriatic yacht to the Prime Minister, “would you have accepted it?”

Jakab would then have spoken about the Elios case, bringing up the connection of Viktor Orbán’s son-in-law, István Tiborcz, but then his microphone was turned off. János Latorcai of the KDNP asked to speak on the Rules earlier, but Jakab did not get a word from the Vice President of Parliament.

At Monday’s meeting, PIM director Szilárd Demeter was attacked several times after calling György Soros a liberal führer and Europe as his gas chamber in a journalism, but Finance Minister Mihály Varga reached an agreement both that Demeter had already apologized.
