Until now, medical and health science students have been able to participate in coronavirus testing and other epidemiological tasks on a voluntary basis, but according to a recent letter from the Secretary of State, it is now about doing, index.hu wrote.

The Index received a letter sent to the leaders of the HÖOK by József Bódis, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Innovation and Professional Training of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM). The National Conference of Student Autonomy (HÖOK) is the national organization for the defense of student autonomy of Hungarian higher education institutions.

According to the decisions of the operational staff, the involvement of the students of our higher education institutions in the following tasks is necessary in the control of the coronavirus epidemic in the following tasks, affirms the Secretary of State in the letter seen by the portal.

It turns out that one of the tasks is regular screening with antigen tests among elementary school, kindergarten and daycare staff. These are run by the County Protection Committees, who provide the necessary vehicles, testing, protective equipment, and comprehensive care for those involved in the assessment.

The evaluation teams will be composed of a driver, an administrator and two medical and health sciences students.

József Bódis puts it this way: our task is to provide two students for each team, which we solve by supervising the third and fourth year students in the medical, dental and health sciences.

In addition to full board, students will receive a scholarship of HUF 5,000 per day and HUF 7,500 on weekends, and their professional training will be carried out with instructional videos.

To evaluate the National Ambulance Service, in addition to medical and health sciences students, we also need student drivers who study in other fields; The Index also learned from the information of József Bódis.

In the Central Hungary region, in addition to the Semmelweis University, this activity is carried out by students of the Budapest University of Technology, and in Debrecen, Pécs and Szeged they ask for the participation of other faculties of the universities. The University of Miskolc and the Széchenyi István University also participate in new screenings, in which, in addition to the faculty of health sciences, students from non-health-related faculties also participate.

Students will also be instructed in hospital clinical activities that will be conducted by medical and health sciences students. According to current information from the Secretary of State, all this means, as a first step, directing fifth and sixth year students to health facilities.

According to József Bódis, foreign students can also be included in the program, but not by order, but only on a voluntary basis, wrote index.hu.
