Coronavirus: the second wave

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. The coronavirus was detected in another 1,820 people, increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 56,098; read at koronavirus.gov.hu.

There are 27,859 people in official home quarantine, according to official figures.

In the last 24 hours, 11,971 new samples have been taken, a total of 961,441 coronavirus tests have been carried out in the country since the outbreak began. The proportion of positive tests is around 15 percent. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that a country be successfully tested if the proportion of positive tests is less than 5 percent.
