The infection was last detected in 902 people.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections a day had been identified and the number of deaths from the virus mostly ranged from 50 to 100 in 24 hours. The first step is a partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

The latest data on the epidemic has been posted on koronavirus.gov.hu. According to them, 902 new infections have been registered and 131 patients have died since the last report.

According to the information, the number of infected people in Hungary has now increased to 317,571. The death toll was 9292. A day earlier, Monday, 609 new infections and 114 deaths were reported.

The site also writes that “the number of people being cured is also steadily growing”: there are currently 138,365 people who have survived the infection. The number of known active infections dropped to 169,914.

The hospital treats 6,298 coronavirus patients, 31 more than the day before, 444 of whom are on respirators. The day before, 448 mechanically ventilated patients were reported.

A total of 6,190 coronavirus tests were conducted, a total of 2,621,427 since the outbreak began. 14.57 percent of the tests were positive, which is still very far from the recommendation of the World Health Organization (WHO). According to the organization, there can be an accurate picture of the spread of the epidemic in a country if the positivity rate of the tests does not exceed 5 percent.

“Vaccination of healthcare workers is still being carried out at the five designated hospital vaccination points today,” said operational staff.

If vaccination against coronavirus will not be mandatory, can an employer expect a person to be vaccinated? Can you select a festival organizer, a theater, a cinema, an airline among people based on whether they are vaccinated or not? We discuss these issues at all times with Judit Zeller, private sector project expert at the Society for Freedoms.
