According to the medical director, the effects of the curfew could be seen in the number of patients next week.

Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The first step is partial closure, but how effective it is is questionable. Follow our news!

We are still in the ascending phase of the second wave of the epidemic, “Cecília Müller said at the press conference of the operative court on Thursday. Speaking of curfew restrictions, the national medical director said that two weeks after its introduction, they expect an improvement in the number of infected and four weeks in the number of deaths. Any other restrictions will be decided next week.

Referring to the World Health Organization (WHO), Müller said that if 95 percent of people wore masks, no further adjustments would be needed.

According to the medical director, in addition to the coronavirus, seasonal influenza also reached Hungary. It claims they check weekly to see if that vaccine is available everywhere, and 74 percent of the first shipment has already been delivered to claimants, based on current figures. In some places, more people than ever have been asked for the vaccine that the government highly recommends, so it may not have been available to everyone.

Responses to journalists’ questions revealed that a Hungarian citizen who returns home from abroad after 8 pm is exempt from penalties for rape. However, foreigners can only enter the territory of Hungary if they first request an exemption from the police restrictions.

It also turned out that, while not officially required, it would be very important for professionals working in other people’s homes to wear a mask as well. For now, this is just a recommendation.
