Two caesarean sections have already been performed at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Semmelweis University in Budapest to save the lives of the fetus and the mother.

Former national chief physician Ferenc Falus informed ATV News that at least 20 pregnant women are receiving oxygen and four are on a respirator at Semmelweis University, adding that after redeployment, covid mothers are being cared for at the Üllői út Clinic.

According to the expert, pregnant women are better attacked by the new mutant viruses than by the original Wuhan pathogen. He added that at a time when 17,000 people have been victims of the epidemic, it would be very important to protect and vaccinate pregnant women. He cited Israel as an example, where Pfizer vaccines are used to vaccinate pregnant women and nursing mothers in the second and third trimesters, respectively. Semmelweis University has yet to provide answers to the ATV questions.
