Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. By Thursday, the number of people in Hungary who had been diagnosed with a new coronavirus infection had risen by 2,194 to 68,127.

The death toll from the epidemic has risen by 56 last day, bringing the total to 1,634 deaths from Covid-19 complications caused by the coronavirus.

More than one death was reported only once in one day: October 27. At that time, 63 people died from the infection.

One of the deceased was a 43-year-old man who was reportedly unaware of his underlying disease.

17,469 people have been declared recovered since the outbreak began. The number of active infections is currently 49,024, 1,767 more than a day earlier.

The hospital treated 3,197 coronavirus patients on Wednesday, with 31 new patients admitted to the institutions in one day, according to official information. There were 255 in a fan, their number was reduced to 8.

A total of 15,253 laboratory tests have been performed, 1,032,942 since the outbreak. The positivity rate for the tests is 14.38 instead of the 5 recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO).

There were 25,585 people in official home quarantine on Wednesday, 1,093 fewer than Tuesday.

According to the decision of the operational staff, there are currently 82 extraordinary breaks in kindergartens. The day before, this provision was in force in 73 institutions. Sanitizing cleaning takes place in schools during fall break.
