People would make better decisions about vaccines and compliance with restrictions if they saw what is happening in hospitals, the Hungarian Medical Chamber wrote.

Coronavirus – the second year

It has been more than a year since the Chinese authorities informed the WHO of the emergence of a new, rapidly spreading virus. Since then, there has hardly been a person in the world who has not heard the term Covid-19, and more and more people are mourning a family member or friend with whom the new disease ended as stocks collapsed in weeks and our entire lives were rewritten. by the epidemic. By now, the vaccines have been completed, which in turn raises not only hope, but again many questions, while not only stopping the virus, but also threatening another mutation. You can find the details of this fight in our article series.

“We believe that it would help citizens to make fundamental decisions (vaccination, disciplined adherence to restrictive measures) if they faced the real situation that health workers experience on a daily basis.”

– This is how the chamber reacted to the government’s refusal to ask the independent press to show what was happening in the Hungarian hospital. Alfahír contacted MOK, who also wrote in his response:

“The presidency of the Hungarian Medical Chamber is far from committed to transparency, and we have repeatedly called on the government to implement it in matters related to the epidemic.”

Judit Mária Tóth, vice president of the Hungarian Doctors’ Union, said: “It would be very important for the press to be able to enter the health facilities and objectively present the heroic struggle in the hospitals.”

During the week, 28 Hungarian publishers, including hvg.hu, wrote an open letter to the head of government and the medical director asking them to finally provide objective information on conditions in the hospitals. Zoltán Kovács, Secretary of State for International Communication, responded: Hospitals must be cured and not have cameras.
