The Director General spoke of the military discipline experienced by the government office during his inspection, which astonished him.

Coronavirus – the second wave

Half a year after the spring outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the second wave of the pandemic has arrived. The radical increase in the number of infected is forcing more and more countries to re-impose restrictions, despite the fact that the world economy has not even recovered from the effects of the spring outbreak. According to the signs, the second wave also reached Hungary. Follow our news!

There are no conditions in Bergamo in Hungarian hospitals treating coronavirus patients, Péter Takács, general director of St. John’s Hospital, told the Hungarian nation.

The newspaper reached out to Takács after Zoltán Szabad, president of the Union of Hungarian Doctors, told Népszava that many hospitals were already full of intensive capacities and that the situation in Hungary was as critical as in northern Italy in the spring.

Takács, on the other hand, spoke of increasing the number of beds reserved for coronavirus patients (a recent ministerial order is already around 40 percent). “Without the intervention, there would have been more patients than free hospital beds, but the government has tightened the rules and now capacity is being released.”

In the next two weeks, it will be seen if further adjustment is necessary, but they expect “the trend to slow down a bit.

Viktor Orbán said in a radio interview on Friday morning that they calculated that 2,240 intensive beds would be needed by November 21, 4,480 by December 10, and that 30 to 32,000 people could be hospitalized. “This is about the limit of health care performance.”

Weaver said this, the government is preparing for the worst case scenario not to rush.

He also spoke about the need for a reorganization in a crisis situation, but the situation is not critical. They were inspected the other day by the government office of the capital and were “amazed” by the military discipline experienced in the hospital and the professionalism of their colleagues.
