Szabolcs Bárdos will replace Zoltán Kiss, who was released with immediate effect in September.

A new Director General of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution (AH) has been appointed. The Prime Minister’s decision on the matter was published in Thursday’s edition of the Hungarian Gazette. According to this

Brigadier General Szabolcs Bárdos was appointed with effect from October 1.

Until now, Bárdos has been deputy director of operations at AH.

In a hearing before the National Security Committee on Tuesday, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér said: Zoltán Kiss, the former director general of the AH, has been transferred to a different position.

On September 15, Kisst was immediately removed from office by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. According to hvg.hu sources, the leader, who had been in charge of the secret service at a fairly young age, had wanted to leave his post there for some time.

Why could Orbán replace the head of the intelligence service?

The secret service found no risk in wanting to be honorary consul of billionaire Josh Cartu who lives in Budapest. The honorary consular appointment of Cartu, who supposedly had good relations with Árpád Habony, was also supported within the Prime Minister’s Office, but in the end his plan fell apart. Meanwhile, the waves crashed over the billionaire’s head: In the spring, lawsuits were started in Canada and recently in the United States against him and his brothers, as well as companies that harm their customers, for binary trading between scammers on line.
