Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure

Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. At the time of the decision, 5,000 new infections had been identified per day and the number of deaths from the virus was mostly between 50 and 100 in 24 hours. The new coronavirus infection was detected in 6,268 new Hungarian citizens, increasing the number of infected people identified in Hungary to 204,708, the government information page koronavirus.gov.hu ​​said on Saturday morning.

152 patients died, bringing the number of deaths to 4,516. There were not as many deaths from the epidemic in one day, the worst day to date was Thursday, with 135 victims. Before that, the daily death toll ranged from 90 to 120 for most of November, but now there have been two much worse days in a row.

The number of people healed increased to 18,021 in 1895,

therefore, the number of active cases increased from 4,221 to 146,171.

21,562 tests were performed, representing a positive test rate of 29.07 percent. According to the recommendation of the World Health Organization, the tests are sufficient if the positive test rate remains below 5 percent, the last time tests in Hungary met this criterion was on September 9.

The hospital cares for 7,536 patients, 65 fewer than a day ago. 644 of them are connected to a fan, three less than the day before.

20% of the actively infected, 24% of the dead and 26% of those recovered are from Budapest.

The number of infected people identified appears in ambulances, in filter buses, and was also examined among hospital workers through rapid tests, the text reads. Cumulative test results for specific groups among daycare, kindergarten, school and social workers are expected early next week.
