Coronavirus: the second wave, the second closure
Later than expected by many, but in mid-November, the Hungarian government also decided to try to curb the second wave of the coronavirus epidemic by introducing restrictions. Currently, 42,467 are in official home quarantine and 2,406,171 tests have been carried out so far.
The third round of group-specific testing has also been completed. In recent weeks, a total of 430,000 rapid tests have been carried out among daycare, kindergarten, school, social, health, government and district office workers. Rapid tests were conducted with less than expected participation, with less than 2 percent of those present testing positive. Operational staff may decide to continue with specific group tests. Health and welfare institutions may still require rapid tests.
