Are Accountants Going Crazy? Has NAV imposed severe restrictions?

NAV has been restricting queries on onlineszamla.nav.gov.hu for months, so it is not possible to access specific lists. The tax authority, after being used to receiving comments on IT errors in disbelief, received a video of the consultation process and the execution of the error on September 20. Since then, there has been no response, the phenomenon of error persists – wrote Zsolt Ruszin, vice president of the National Association of Hungarian Accountants (MKOE).

According to the discussion paper posted in MKOE’s Facebook post, the error cannot be accidental, it may be caused by a restriction that NAV does not want to comment on. This was capped off by another rough restriction by NAV last week. An ever expanding field of accounting software and management software is creating an interface for bulk downloading of invoice data online and connecting to NAV. However, the massive inquiries were satisfied by the office’s IT department and imposed a strict restriction, says the specialist.

According to him, the restriction is difficult to explain in colloquial language. Perhaps it could be characterized as NAV transforming online administration into a digital desert with the stroke of a pen. And there is no chance of rain.

Instead of developing the systems, the tax authority took the time to complain to the billing software developers about a mysteriously selected group of taxpayers, claiming that the software did not comply with the billing feedback protocol. Several software developers responded in outrage and demanded that NAV’s IT staff keep their names and titles anonymous and respond anonymously due to the credit crisis. The heated debate on NAV’s online account forum continues.

The Vice President recalls the following fact: today I called Attila Mizsányi, who (also) is responsible for this IT area in the Central Directorate of NAV. I asked if we could negotiate an invoice online in a few minutes. He said no. “I asked him,” Didn’t we talk? “He said no.” Then he hung up.

At the National Association of Hungarian Accountants, they are sadly watching where the IT standard and related communication fall within the limits of NAV, concludes Zsolt Ruszin.
