According to the newspaper report, OGYÉI highlighted in its announcement that it had authorized the use of favipiravir in Hungary after reviewing the authorization file.

Favipiravir tablets are given to people with mild symptoms who are infected with coronavirus.

The drug is expected to be used in mid-January to treat patients infected with the coronavirus, and it will be managed by the state health reserve and delivered to healthcare providers. Favipiravir is the second drug to be used in COVID therapy after remdesivir and has been approved for home use by OGYÉI, the document writes with reference to the OGYÉI announcement.
