By New Year’s Eve, animal rights activists will be exempted from the curfew to help dogs in distress, the ministerial commissioner for animal welfare announced Tuesday. Péter Ovádi, after visiting the Ministry of the Interior and the police in search of “help”, drew attention to the fact that

even an animal protector can only be on the street if he has to provide a catch or location on the basis of a report, considers it important that no one abuse this to ensure a uniform evaluation of animal protectors.

Due to the control of the epidemic, this year there is also a night curfew on New Year’s Eve. To comply with this, the government restricted the sale and use of fireworks that were otherwise permitted in other ways. According to the current government decree, such a product cannot be sold in a container, but in a store, which is prohibited in public areas and can be used in private areas.

According to the Government Information Center, a person who violates the rules on distribution, possession and use of fireworks used on New Year’s Eve can be fined up to 150,000 HUF.
