All drivers that can be hired work in Budapest

With the flight reductions introduced in two steps, in September and November, all existing and ready-to-fight vehicles in the capital were put on the market by BKK and the capital’s transport service providers, writes the Transport Center of Budapest in a statement Wednesday night.

Taking advantage of the maximum number of vehicles available in practice and employing all the drivers that can be deployed in the current situation, transport companies have reached the ceiling.

They said.

According to BKK, although flight utilization has declined again across the city since the epidemiological tightening in November, the most important thing for the Metropolitan Municipality, BKK and service providers is being able to travel safely in Budapest. To this end, of course, it is also cooperating with the Metropolitan Government Office, which is once again reporting misleading information about flight congestion.

As recalled, the Budapest Transport Center stated in its statement last Friday that it was not true that the company had not implemented the Hungarian government’s decision to increase the number of flights and that it had not provided any documentation to the government office.

Due to the pandemic situation, BKK has been operating more frequently than school hours since September, and at the request of the agency it has been operating at the highest capacity since November: all buses, trams, trolleybuses and trains of existing metro in Budapest.

They wrote.

Since November, the largest capacity in the capital has been provided by transport service providers: all existing buses, trams, trolleybuses and metro trains in Budapest have been put on the market, BKK said.
