Children of Bodom frontman Alexi Laiho has died at age 41, the singer-guitarist said on his Facebook page. It is written that the musician died last week at his home in Helsinki after a long illness and will be buried in a narrow circle.

The melodic death metal band, originally founded in 1993 as Inearthed, was one of the best-known Finnish metal bands, disbanded at the end of 2019. He also spoke at the time that he had had a problem with alcohol in the past.

He has also played in Sinergy, The Local Band, and Kylähullut, and previously appeared in Thy Serpent, Impaled Nazarene, Warmen, and Hypocrisy.

Last year, Alexi Laiho formed a band called Bodom After Midnight, with which they made three songs and a video clip, which will be released after his death.
