As a result of the start of the heating season, air pollution has increased; According to measurements from the National Center for Public Health (NNK), air quality has been challenged in 10 settlements.

Among the settlements observed with the measuring station, the air of Budapest, Debrecen, Kazincbarcika, Miskolc, Putnok, Sajószentpeter, Szeged, Szolnok, Tököl and Vác was classified as objectionable.

In eight locations, the average daily concentration of small aerosol particles (PM2.5), while in two cities (Debrecen and Szolnok) the maximum daily hourly average nitrogen dioxide concentration fell into the controversial category of the hygiene index of air.

In case of poor air quality, children, the elderly, patients with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases may develop mild respiratory symptoms (such as cough, respiratory irritation) and their existing symptoms may worsen. It is recommended that in affected settlements, especially those suffering from respiratory diseases, work, strenuous sports and other outdoor physical activities be reduced.
