After Orbán’s announcement, the students began to destroy the BME school

On Tuesday morning, students vandalized several rooms at the Schönherz College of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, writes Telex.

According to the newspaper, the chairs, beds and mattresses were thrown away, and in one of the rooms they began to knock down the wall with a hammer. The latter was also recorded on video.

According to Telex readers, the students began to destroy after Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Monday stricter epidemiological restrictions, according to which higher education can only operate online starting Wednesday and universities must be closed.

BME stated that

Based on the investigation, we will be able to give an accurate answer as to how many were involved in the vandalism. The sanctions for students involved in acts of vandalism will be decided by the Disciplinary Committee of the University after a disciplinary procedure, and an unknown company will launch a police complaint against the author of the case.

According to the article, police officers visited the building several times on Monday evening and, according to a video recording posted on the Telex website, the Budapest XI Police Headquarters. The District Police Department has initiated procedures.
