According to a recent poll, Fidesz and the united opposition are face to face

Fidesz in 2022 can be overcome with the full cooperation of the opposition, a list of common opposition and hard work, which is the conclusion of a recent joint analysis with Závecz Research, an institute for social democracy created by the MSZP and the Diálogo, he writes 444.hu, which describes the results in detail.

These are the key findings:

  • Eighty-seven percent of opposition voters agree that a candidate must run against Fidesz in all electoral districts.
  • As of now, 83 percent of opposition voters also agree with the common list, mostly voters from MSZP, DK, Dialogue and LMP. Right-wing and instant voters have a larger number of people who would support a two-list solution, but they are also a minority compared to single-list parties.
  • A surprising finding from the poll is that the Fidesz list would attract 39 percent of voters and the common opposition list 39 percent of voters. Which means, then, that the two lists currently enjoy similar support.

However, according to the analysis, there may also be a possibility of victory for the opposition. In other words, there are 43 electoral districts in which the cooperating opposition would have a serious chance of victory and 26 in which the slight disadvantage of the opposition could be resolved. “Also, there are 37 districts where Fidesz’s advantage is already over 5 percent, and by cooperating here, there is not much chance that the opposition will take down the Fidesz representative,” writes 444.hu.
