The deputy rector and rector of the University of Theater and Film Arts issued a statement. The notice can be read below:

Both the students and the Strike Committee of the University of Theater and Film Arts rejected the complex offer of the Rector General and Chancellor of the SZFE. The offer included a 10 + 15% salary increase for university employees and the fact that employees could work the previous working hours. Once the complex offer has not been accepted and the strike continues, parts of the offer will also not go into effect.

Although the deadline for accepting the offer was midnight on October 7, we asked the students and the strike committee to reconsider our proposal and accept it, as it is not too late to start working together.

Around a third of SZFE employees sent a written communication to the Rector of SZFE, in which they state that they do not participate in the university event, do not cooperate with its organizers and want to work with Dr. Gábor Szarka.

On the morning of October 8, the rector Dr. Gábor Szarka will begin his work in the building on SZFE Vas street in order to guarantee the functionality of the university, take responsibility for the working conditions of the people who work there and manage the payment of wages and other benefits.

Emil Novák, Acting Deputy Director General

Dr. Gábor Szarka, Chancellor
