We wrote in detail a few days ago that while it may take years to clearly see all the complications caused by coronavirus in the human body, more and more research groups are looking at the follow-up of patients who have undergone COVID. Based on the results so far, it can be clearly stated that for many the recovery from the coronavirus does not end so quickly, this condition has already received a name: prolonged COVID.

RTL Híradó has now presented a young Hungarian who was among the first to suffer a coronavirus infection in Hungary. Ádám Keczán was officially declared cured in April, but he did not smell or taste for five months. The report also revealed that these perceptions have not fully returned so far.

I still don’t feel 100 percent healed today, although my taste and smell have returned, but not 100 percent.

Ádám Keczán said.

RTL News also listed in detail the most common symptoms of prolonged COVID, which are as follows:

  • Loss of taste and smell
  • Crippling fatigue
  • Cough
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Muscle pain
  • Hearing and vision problems
  • Damage to the heart, lungs, and stomach
  • Depression, anxiety, and fuzzy thinking.

Ilona Bobek was also interviewed in the report, and the chief physician at South Pest Central Hospital, which runs the intensive care units, said the most common symptom younger age groups also complain about is a decline in performance. . He added that the reason for this is that the coronavirus can attack not only the lungs but the entire body.

The heart muscle is also attacked by this virus, so the performance of the heart itself is reduced, which is a serious problem after infection.

He is stressed.

He noted, another very serious symptom is that many patients with kidney function are also affected by the coronavirus. In light of the above, in many cases, patients recovering from the coronavirus require aftercare, but it is also important to emphasize that there is a good chance of full recovery.
