The hospital’s press relations officer said the fire occurred in one of the rooms in the part of the building reserved for coronavirus patients. Workers had to evacuate a 28-bed non-intensive Covid-19 supply unit.

He said the building’s ventilation and primary remediation are still ongoing, what has happened will not cause a lasting disruption in patient care and hospital operation.

Csaba County Disaster Management Spokesperson Nagy Heves responded to MTI’s question: After the alarm, 22 firefighters arrived at the scene with seven vehicles from Hatvan, Gyöngyös and Aszód, and the flames stopped in no time. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, he added.
