Witnesses said the man who was driving the truck sped onto the pedestrian street in the early afternoon, in which case many were injured and four people died. In addition to the 9-month-old child, a 25 and 73-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man died.
A man identified in the German press as Bernd W. was sitting alone in the car, and the prosecutor’s office said preliminary investigations suggested that psychiatric problems may also have something to do with what happened. W. had no criminal record, but according to the news, he did not have the address reported and had lived in the car for some time, which he had loaned to someone. (BBC)
