The World Health Organization (WHO) asked countries around the world to investigate suspected coronavirus diseases on Tuesday after it was discovered the previous day that a man in France had become infected in late December, almost a month before the first verified case was recognized.

Christian Lindmeier, a spokesman for the organization, asked countries around the world to verify cases of pneumonia of unknown origin that were recorded late last year.

The WHO believes that Washington’s claims about the laboratory origin of the coronavirus are unfounded and continues to consider that the virus originates from nature. Michael Ryan, the organization’s director of emergencies, said the United States has so far provided no evidence of these allegations, which can therefore only be considered assumptions.

Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, whose country called for an independent investigation into China on the alleged withholding of information on the coronavirus, said the Chinese gaming market may have been the most likely source of a new type of coronavirus causing the pandemic. But Morrison did not discount Trump’s theory.

On Tuesday night, 3,618,325 infected people, 253,381 deaths and 1,184,145 recovered were recorded worldwide, according to a summary from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.
